Mom Update

Well mom has been awake for one week now and she is making wonderful progress! They are working her very hard and she is getting worn out! Think physical therapy twice a day and cardiac therapy twice a day! She is able to move her arms and hands a little bit and she is also able to bend and move her legs! We are so proud of her and all the progress she is making! We hope that everyone keeps rooting for her!

This is a huge milestone and me and my family couldn't be happier! Thanks for everyone's good thoughts and paryers, they have all been very appreciated!

Well today has been somewhat of a positive day when it comes to talking about my mom, she is able to wake up a little bit but she is having a hard time staying awake, she is also able to communicate a little bit with some eye blinks and some eyebrow raising (I know this may seem like not a whole lot but to us it is huge) we are hoping that this is going to be good and that she will continue to get better, we are so proud of the progress she is making and are proud that she is trying so hard!

Well they moved my mom to the third floor and out of the intensive care, she is still non responsive and we were told that she probably will never respond (we are still hoping for some sort of a miracle) not much else has changed but I thought I would try to give an update.

Mom

Well as many of you may have heard my mom has been very sick lately and is currently in the Intensive Care Unit at Mckay Dee Hospital! On Thursday the 2nd of October she had open heart surgery for an Aortic Dissection. That operation lasted for approxamately 8 hours and then she was operated on 3 hours later for approxamately 3 hours for excessived bleeding. She is currently in a self/medically induced coma and has been that way for the last 10 days. The doctors tell us that her heart is doing well and is pretty much healed, she has suffered some sort of neurological damage that has made her lose the use of pretty all of her body. She has been somewhat responsive to her name but even at that she will only slighly life her eyebrow! We are praying and hoping for some sort of recovery but are still not positive that will happen. She will go in on Tuesday the 14th for an additional operation. So I ask that everyone continues to keep my mom in their prayers and in their thoughts! I will try to keep this updated as much as possible but life has been so busy lately!

Spencer

Well I thought I would take a moment and let everyone know how crazy my life has been the last little bit! We celebrated Spencers 2nd birthday on October 6th with a trip to Chuck E. Cheese, he loved every minute of it! He is getting so big and so full of life. We took him to the doctor and he is weighing in at a huge 25 1/2 pounds and is 36 inches tall, he had to get on eshot and he was so brave he didn't even cry, I am so proud of him. We also took our yearly trip to the cardiologist down at Primary childrens to check up on his heart murmur. They decided to do a sedated echo cardiogram and we are happy to report that he is healthy and there aren't any serious problems! Spencer has been such a bright spot in my life I am so thankful to have him!
